A reservoir in the southern Grampians of Angus, Loch Lee lies at the head of Glen Esk.\u00a0 The Water of Lee and the Water of Unich flow into the loch from the west, and to the east the Water of Mark joins the Lee to from the River North Esk.<\/p>\n

Loch Lee Glen Esk Circular Walk is a 15.8 kilometre loop trail located near Brechin, which features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching.<\/p>\n

On fine spring days\u00a0it is a delight just to be there. Banks of wild primroses, peregrine falcons calling from the crags and the occasional golden eagle can be found circling overhead.<\/p>\n

Loch Lee is open for fishing from 1st May until late September provided estate tenants do not require it \u2013 strictly fly fishing only, no Sunday fishing allowed.\u00a0 Fishing is from boats only.<\/p>\n

Queen Victoria described it as \u201ca wild but not large lake, closed in by mountains, with a farm-house and a few cottages at its edge\u201d.<\/p>\n
