Tillygloom is a small traditional family farm which is situated on the outskirts of Brechin.

In 1998, Johnny and Fiona Watson started their free range egg enterprise with 12 hens and sold the eggs at the back door of the farmhouse.

As demand grew, they decided to relocate the egg sales to the end of the farm road in order to catch the passing trade and sell their produce in a practical but novel way by introducing their vending machine.

As well as their free range eggs, they sell duck eggs, tatties, neeps, home baking and other seasonal produce.

Tillygloom Farm supply a number of local shops including Gourmet Grocer at 29, Partytime, Dennis and Trinity Garden Centre, all in nearby Brechin.

East Scryne Fruit is a quaint farm shop, vintage-style tea room and playpark, which opened in 2013 at East Scryne Fruit Farm, just a mile or so inland from East Haven Beach, Carnoustie. They are a seasonal business, open every day from the end of April each year until the berries run out in mid-September.

They pick the very best berries from their premium crop for the fruit farm shop and café early each morning, and the short journey across the field to the kitchen is just one of the ingredients in their berries lifecycle that helps make them so very special.

The shop sells East Scryne Farm’s premium produce (mouth watering strawberries, karaka berries, raspberries and blueberries), their own free range organic eggs, delicious homemade jams and their famous lemon curd and local seasonal produce, including a sourdough delivery each Thursday.

The vintage-style tearoom has indoor and outdoor seating, where you can enjoy an array of home-baked treats and locally made artisanal produce; their amazing team are up at the crack of dawn baking scones and cakes to serve in the café that day.

They serve whole-bean barista coffee and boast the best scones in the area along with strawberry tarts and meringues, all served with a smile. They also serve paninis, jacket potatoes from the farm, home-made soup of the day as well as savoury muffins.

We need to mention their famous fresh fruit ice cream that they mix freshly for you in moments, by blending Mackies Scottish ice cream with the berries of your choice! What’s more, with their Ice Cream Loyalty Card you can earn stamps and get a free ice cream.

East Scryne Fruit welcomes walkers, dog walkers, cyclists and breastfeeding mums. There’s plenty of free parking (including a new overflow car park, space for camper vans, dedicated accessible parking spaces, and plenty of room for visitors who need space to manoeuvre wheelchairs and buggies). The playpark and area outside of the tearoom is newly pedestrianised for your safety. Their indoor and outdoor spaces are dog-friendly, wheelchair accessible and they cater for vegetarians, vegans and food intolerances; just ask for more information when you order.

Commitment to the environment and sustainability on the farm continues in the fruit farm shop and café. They’ve removed as much single use plastic as they can – no nasty plastic cups, forks, spoons, bags or punnets here; they have as much multi-use tableware and environmentally-friendly packaging as they can, right down to the compostable punnets you take your berries home in. Even their coffee grounds, food waste and paper waste go onto the compost heap ready for the vegetable patch. As part of their ongoing commitment to sustainability and a thank you to our customers who join them, they’ve recently announced their ‘Go Green’ initiative, where customers receive a 10% off hot drinks.

Last but not least, children can enjoy the playpark with an enormous bouncy pillow, straw bale castle, swing, Angus’ biggest sandpit, strawberry cottage, giant Instagram-worthy strawberry, and picnic tables. They can also feed and pet East Scryne Farm’s miniature cashmere goats – they call it goat therapy, it’s good for the soul – for children and adults of all ages!

Opening Times:
Monday to Sunday – 10am to 4pm ( including bank holidays) from mid-April – mid-September.

Mill of Inverarity is a working family farm with both rich heritage and a modern vision. The farm is run by Alison and Rob Stodart with their two sons, Rory and Tom.

Under their management, the farm has changed beyond recognition to where it is today – a family business that utilises modern farming ideas along with traditional knowledge and experience.

Still a mixed farming enterprise, it has grown to include home produced beef, grass fed lamb and free-range eggs

Alison’s Great Grandfather John Syme moved from Fife to take on the tenancy at The Mill in 1884. This means that it is now the fifth generation of the same family farming The Mill.

Neil and Jillian McEwan regeneratively run Lunan Bay Farm – Scottish Cashmere Goats in Angus. They are pioneering producers of homegrown Scottish Regenerative Cashmere, a first in Scotland for 30 years. Their aim is to produce quality Cashmere fibre which works in harmony with our environment and nature. They offer unique and memorable farm tours seasonally at Easter and the Summer, including the very popular Goats in Coats Festival and newly launched Scottish Cashmere Experience.

Neil and Jillian’s farm is based at picturesque Lunan Bay, the Jewel in the Crown of Angus, 3 miles of unspoilt beach adjacent to 11th Century Redcastle Ruin.

Scottish Cashmere

Scotland is world renowned for its Cashmere production industry. However, the fibre has not been grown in this country for decades. The finest Cashmere is currently sourced from goats in Asia, then processed in Scotland by our world class mills. Although there are moves for the Cashmere industry to became more sustainable, there are issues about the ethical and environmental impact of Cashmere production in these countries.

The McEwans groundbreaking work in producing Cashmere that is grown and processed in Scotland, also studies the environmental benefits of regeneratively managed Cashmere goats. They are guardians of the only farmed herd of Cashmere goats in the UK. Every Spring, they ethically harvested their goats’ cashmere fibre, their winter undercoat, by hand combing to leave our goats with glossy new coats for the summer. Lunan Bay Farm – Scottish Cashmere Goats are part of the Regenerative Textiles movement in the UK, working with likeminded growers, mills and designers to create fabrics with a conscience.

Lunan Bay Cashmere is available to buy online, at their pop-up farm shop by appointment and at their farm tours.

Eco-Goats

Back in 2016, Lunan Bay Farm – Scottish Cashmere Goats introduced goats on their farm for fibre production and the environmental benefits to their soils and nature. Goats have a low carbon footprint, produce the most luxurious Cashmere fibre and help to increase biodiversity. Lunan Bay Farm manages their herd regeneratively to improve the health of their soils, goats and environment.

Farm Tours

Every Easter, Lunan Bay Farm – Scottish Cashmere Goats run their very popular Goats in Coats Festival to celebrate the end of their end kidding season. Visitors can meet their herd of over 100 adorable jumper-wearing kids and even get the opportunity to cuddle their gorgeous newborns. Last year they welcomed over 3000 visitors over their 4 day festival. Top tip: they release their tickets in December via their website so book early as it sells out very quickly.

Lunan Bay Farm’s Scottish Cashmere Farm to Fibre Experience offers a rich, immersive journey into the world of sustainable luxury at Redcastle, overlooking the breathtaking Lunan Bay. This intimate tour invites guests to connect with the full story of Scottish regenerative cashmere; meeting the goats, learning about traditional combing techniques, and seeing how raw fibre is transformed into soft, traceable yarn. Whether your interests lie in goats, fibre, wellness, wildlife, nature, history or heritage, this experience offers something unique and memorable. Guests also enjoy time to relax and savour the surroundings. Experiences available include delicious farm-to-table lunch served in the farmhouse garden and Lobsters at Lunan, outdoor dining experience with our private chef partners, Rae’s.
