The Café at Ashbrook serves delicious home cooking & baking with locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. We have a pleasant outdoor seating area with a lawn and woodland wander adjacent to the café which has a fairy door trail and borders.

A gardener’s paradise, we pride ourselves on the comprehensive range of plants we offer in our garden centre, with the majority – including over 2000 varieties – grown on site. The Stag, Forfar, offers some of the best hospitality in Angus. There is a large selection of draught and bottled beers, house wines, a wide range of gins and over 25 whiskies in the bar, along with a weekend entertainment schedule. The Beer Garden is open from late spring till late summer, weather permitting.

The Stag recently won “Best Beer Quality Award” for Scotland in 2021 and 2024. We have been finalists for last 4 years, so you can expect the best attention is given to our beer.

The restaurant offers an excellent and regularly updated international menu including traditional Scottish favourites. Burger night is on Tuesday, Steak Night takes place on Thursdays, and the ever popular roasts are available on Sundays. The Stag also do theme nights on Fridays and have a weekly specials board. Bookings are preferred for restaurant meals to avoid disappointment.
