Join performance maker Sean Wai Keung as he reads eulogies to a selection of Collecting the World exhibition objects.

Blending both real and imagined histories, Wai Keung looks to reclaim emotional connection between museum object and audience in this special grieving guided tour which explores the death of objects as everyday items as well as their resurrection as Things in a Museum. Contains depictions of joy, violence, colonisation, death and bureaucracy.

Sean Wai Keung is a performance maker and writer based in Glasgow. He has particular interests in community and migration and his work often blurs the line between performer and audience, utilising hospitality to break down traditional boundaries without discomfort. He has worked with organisations including the National Theatre of Scotland, Tramway, Summerhall and CCA Glasgow.

Suitable for age 14+ (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult).

Stories of Stone: A Journey Through Deep Time

In just 60 minutes, travel back to the dawn of our world. Witness the fiery birth of the Moon, born from a cataclysmic planetary collision. Breathe in the moment oxygen first appeared, reshaping Earth into the cradle of life we know today.

When the story ends, the wonder continues. Gaze upon stones that carry whispers from our local earth and distant corners of the globe. Speak with geologists who read the language of rocks – and bring your own stones to unlock the secrets they hold.

Come ready to wander through time, to touch the ancient, and to feel the Earth’s story unfold in your hands. Arrive curious, leave inspired!

The talk will start at 7pm and there is time between then and 9pm for questions, having a look at the rocks and more rocky discussions. You can join us at the Commercial Inn before 7pm to get the best seat while we are setting up from 6.30pm.

£8 per person, this includes tea/coffee and biscuits. Alcoholic drinks can be purchased from the bar.

Book your place now.

This event is part of the Angus Outdoor Adventure Winter Festival.
