A 4-bedroom farmhouse located just outside of the Cairngorms National Park and 12 miles from the town of Kirriemuir in Angus, Scotland.

This property is ideal for family and friends to come together and enjoy a fantastic break in a beautifully secluded location. Wonderfully decorated with charming and rustic features as well as a comfortable sitting room, well-equipped kitchen, WIFI, cosy bedrooms and lovely outdoor areas with the Rottal Burn trickling past the Bothy. The property can sleep 8 people.

Rottal is a perfect location for people who love the outdoors, with great walking, scenery, cycling and fishing all available upon your doorstep.

The nearby town of Kirriemuir has a good range of shopping, cafes and pubs. There is also a museum and the birthplace of J.M Barrie is available to visit. The nearest city is Dundee just 29 miles away. It is certainly worth visiting with its beautiful buildings and great range of things to do. The coast is also within driving distance.

Pitscandly Farm Holidays offers two wonderful holiday suites which are attached to the Grade A listed Pitscandly House.

The Garden Suite has a twin bedroom, large sitting/dining room, kitchen and bathroom with shower.

The Courtyard Suite has an open plan kitchen/sitting/dining room, a shower room, double bedroom and single bedroom. We also welcome two well behaved dogs!

Both suites can use the historic Walled Garden and enjoy meals outside.

The farm is on the doorstep and we can arrange farm tours to see the deer (and feed them!) if guests would like to join in the farm experience.

There are lots of walks around the farm and we have storage facilities for fishing rods, bikes and golf clubs.

We can provide delicious home cooked venison meals for those holiday makers wishing a complete break from the kitchen and also offer venison Cookery Demonstration mornings at an additional cost.

Please note there are stairs up to each suite and 5 internal stairs.

Muirfield Holiday House is a luxury 4 bedroom house for up to 8 guests. It is set in its own private garden, rear decking with gas BBQ and luxury garden furniture, outdoor hot tub and games room in the garage. The spacious kitchen diner includes a cosy snug area to enjoy a hot chocolate in front of the wood burning stove. The lounge is a fantastic large space with open fire, comfy sofas, reclining chairs and beautiful views to the coast and surrounding countryside. A stay here is truly a memorable experience.

Munro Cottage is a deceptively spacious 3 bedroom cottage with kitchen dining room, lounge and 2 bath/shower rooms. The private garden to the side and rear offers a great place to enjoy a BBQ, relax in the outdoor hot tub or take in the views from the heated summerhouse.

Glennie Cottage is a ‘wee gem’ of a 2 bedroom cottage with shower room, kitchen, lounge with dining table and beautiful views from the window seat. The large decking to the rear offers great views and direct access from the kitchen makes this the perfect place to enjoy a summer drink or BBQ.

The Munro & Glennie cottages are a short 5 minute walk from Muirfield House.

Dogs welcome – up to 2 per house and must abide by ‘paws on floor’ policy.

Stay on a working farm with a coffee shop, gift shop, farm shop and nature trail.

There are two 4 star self catering holiday houses onsite – The Old Cow Byre sleeps 8 and The Old Bothy sleeps 4. Both have hot tubs and are dog friendly.

Peel Farm also has eight luxury glamping pods, all with hot tubs. They sleep 2 people and are for adults only. No pets in the pods. The standard pods can be twin or double and the premium pods have a superking. All have an ensuite shower room.
